GETCALL
+++++++
version 1.00b November 28, 1994
[for Wildcat! version 4.01]
a shareware Wildcat! utility by Kirk DeHaan, N6SXR
WHAT IT DOES:
-------------
GETCALL is WCCode utility that interfaces with the QRZ! Ham Radio CDROM
to allow Wildcat! users the ability to search the ham call database. It
requires a copy of the QRZ! database to be available either on CD or on
your hard drive. It allows all the searches provided by the QRZ! query
program provided on Volume 3, Summer 1994 CDROM.
Running the program:
--------------------
GETCALL, being a WCCode utility, runs within Wildcat!. I will leave it up
to you to configure you interface within Wildcat!. I personally created
an extended menu group with this as an option. I setup this selection to
run the GETCALL WCCode utility.
Here's a list of the files GETCALL expects to find:
GCHLP.BBS Help file. Located in defined WC help directory
GC.BBS Menu file. Located in defined WC display directory
If this is not present GETCALL will use an internal
menu. Menu selections are:
C - callsign S - State and city
N - First and last name Z - Zipcode
O - Output mode D - Download file
Q - Quit to BBS H - Help
G - Goodbye
Here's a list of files GETCALL will use if it finds them:
GCCALL.BBS Displayed before callsign prompt.
GCNAME.BBS Displayed before first name prompt.
GCCITY.BBS Displayed before city prompt.
GCZIP.BBS Displayed before zip prompt.
GCMODE.BBS Displayed before output mode choices.
GCDOWN.BBS Displayed before download function.
Here's a list of files GETCALL creates:
HAMCALL.TXT Capture file of query output. Deleted up transfer or
exit from BBS.
GC.TMP A temporary listing file. It is deleted after each query.
GC.ERR Error log. Written to WC defined work directory.
Here's a list of the environment variables GETCALL uses:
QRZDRV Denotes the drive the database is located on. Check
the QRZ! database documentation for more information.
This variable is REQUIRED. An error log is written if
this variable is not present. The user gets notified.
QRZPATH Denotes the path of the QRZ! database. It is not
required if you use the default path for the database.
Check the QRZ! database documentation for more infor-
mation.
(Note: Check the documentation that came with the QRZ! CDROM)
GCLOG Determines whether the activity log is updated with
the users actions.

USAGE:
This program is shareware. If you like it and use it then send me $10.
If you use it and don't pay you have only yourself to deal with. I will
not be looking for you. The program is fully functional and registering
it will not provide any additional features. It will, however, encourage
me to enhance this utility. Payments can be sent to:
